John (Jack) Glasheen

Chief Compliance Officer & Director of Operations

John (Jack) Glasheen is co-founder of 1949 Value Advisors LLC and has been in the financial services industry for more than 30 years, serving in a variety of senior compliance and operations roles.

 

Jack serves as the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Operations for 1949 Value Advisors.  Jack also founded Glasheen Compliance Consulting and serves as part-time outsourced Chief Compliance Officer for Source Financial Advisors in NYC.

 

Previously, Jack was the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer for Lebenthal & Co. and Lebenthal Asset Management LLC. Before joining Lebenthal, Jack was a Vice President and Regional Compliance Manager in the Investment Management Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Jack has also held various senior supervisory positions in compliance and operations with Essex Corporation (a John Hancock subsidiary), US Life and Pershing. 

 

Jack is a graduate of Iona College (BBA) and Baruch College CUNY (MBA).

Matthew T. Haynes, CFA

Chief Investment Officer / Portfolio Manager

Matt Haynes is Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of 1949 Value Advisors LLC, following a successful career as Portfolio Manager of multi-billion dollar global equity value portfolios for both retail and institutional investors since 1993. 

 

Prior to founding 1949 Value Advisors in 2014, Matt created the Lazard Classic Value global strategies serving family offices and institutional investors with both long-only and long-short investment mandates.  Before joining Lazard in 2005, Matt was co-manager of the Franklin Mutual Beacon Fund (BEGRX) and the Franklin Mutual European Fund (MEURX).  Both funds were recognized for their strong performance under Matt’s management during the difficult 2001–2004 time period.   Previously, Matt worked at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Advisors (1989 – 2001) serving as co-manager of the MSDW Global Dividend Securities Trust (GLBBX) since its inception in 1993.  The MSDW Global Dividend Securities Trust was the top performing global equity mutual fund in the US for the calendar year 1994, according to Lipper Analytical Services.  Matt holds a BA in Business Administration – Finance from William Paterson University and is a CFA Charterholder.
